Step-by-step Guide
The Pico grinder is an essential part of Coffee Station, offering precision and consistency in every dose. By connecting it to the La Marzocco Home App, you unlock seamless control, allowing for real-time grind adjustments, dose programming, and automatic weight tracking—all from your phone.
Let’s walk through the app setup and features step by step!
Plug in your Pico grinder and switch it on using the rocker switch next to the indication ring on the right side.
Put the Pico into Bluetooth Mode
To enable pairing mode, follow these steps:
- Turn off the power.
- Hold down the first and last buttons on the Pico.
- Turn the power back on while holding the buttons.
- You should see ‘conf’ on the screen, confirming Bluetooth mode is active.
Your grinder is now ready to connect!
Add the Pico in the La Marzocco Home App
Now, open the La Marzocco Home App and follow these steps:
- Tap ‘ADD ANOTHER DEVICE’ to open the Found Devices screen.
- Select ‘Pico’ from the list of available devices.
- Tap ‘CONTINUE SETUP’ to move forward.
Connect to Wi-Fi
Your Pico connects to your home Wi-Fi network for app-based control:
- Choose a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (not 5GHz).
- Enter your Wi-Fi password to complete the connection.
If you experience connection issues, move closer to your router and try again.
Personalise Your Pico
- Give your grinder a name (e.g., “Pico Precision” or “Daily Grind”).
- Choose a location (e.g., Kitchen, Coffee Bar).
- Tap ‘CONTINUE’ to finalize the setup.
- Your Pico grinder is now connected and ready to use!
App Features for the Pico!
Now that your Pico is paired with the La Marzocco Home App, you can:
Dashboard
- Coffee Station: Connect the Linea Mini, Pico and a Connected scale to access brew-by-weight and grind-by-weight.
- Status: Allows you to turn your grinder on or place it into standby.
GRIND BY WEIGHT
- Connected Scale: Grind-by-weight uses a compatible scale to automatically stop grinding at your desired weight. Add the La Marzocco connected scale to your setup and monitor your grind-by-weight settings. You can also retrain the connected scale as needed.
- Timed Doses: Corresponds to the T1 and T2 buttons on the Pico. This can be set to any time.
- Mass Doses: Corresponds to the T1 and T2 buttons on the Pico. This can be set to any weight in grams.
MACHINE
- Single Dose Mode: Corresponds to the T3 button on the Pico. This is the manual option for grinding on the Pico.
- Barista Light: When activated your Pico will illuminate the portafilter area while grinding.
Scheduling
- Auto Standby: Conserve power by placing the grinder into standby mode after a set amount of time following your last grind or after the grinder was powered on.
My Stats
- Performance Statistics: Access data such as total grinding statistics, dose usage and grinding trends over the grinder’s lifetime, helping you monitor usage and maintenance needs.
- Resource Library: Gain access to a collection of how-to guides and frequently asked questions to enhance your barista skills and troubleshoot common issues.
Settings
- Auto Update: When active, the gateway will automatically update to the latest version when it becomes available.
- Machine Users: Share your grinder with a new user.
- Factory Reset: Reset your grinder to the factory settings.
- Unpair: Unpair your grinder from the app.
